If you haven’t heard his name yet, get ready, because Ohio State freshman wide receiver Marvin Harrison, Jr. is going to be someone you hear early and often in his career. He’s not going to break into a starting role with the embarrassment of riches the Buckeyes have at the position right now, but it’s beginning to look more and more like he’ll be in the rotation for meaningful snaps during the season.
If it’s possible, the son of Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison might have been overlooked a wee bit by the recruiting types. He was still a pretty high 4-star prospect coming out of the same high school (St. Joseph’s Prey) as 5-star OSU freshman QB Kyle McCord, but it’s beginning to look like that was a bit of a miss.
That’s because Harrison has been making plays ever since he arrived on campus. He looked great in the Spring Game and hasn’t let up since then, impressing both coaches and players during workouts and through fall preseason camp so far.
He is a polished receiver for being a freshman, but that makes sense with the bloodlines and advice he’s probably gotten from his father. He runs great routes, judges his speed on the ball well, and his combination of size and unbelievable hands make him a guy that can catch balls in traffic.

We can’t wait to see what Harrison becomes as he continues to develop under wide receivers coach Brian Hartline. He’s already off to a great start and has future NFL receiver written all over him. First things first though, let’s see him introduce himself to the Big Ten in 2021.
