LOOK: Myles Jack puts pen to paper on new deal

If he didn’t already, Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Myles Jack now has the money to increase his candle production. As most are aware, the young linebacker received a new contract Saturday, and it appears he’s wasted no time putting pen to paper.

On an Instagram story post he made early Sunday, Jack basically made the deal official posting himself officially signing his new extension.

Per Adam Schefter, the extension was a four-year deal worth $57 million, which includes $33 million in guarantees. That made him the sixth highest-paid interior linebacker as far as guarantees go.

Jack, who was a part of the Jags’ infamous 2016 draft class, has managed to accumulate 221 tackles over the course of four seasons, while also racking up five sacks, six pass breakups and a pick and starting in 42 games. He’s developed into one of the defense’s leaders over time and still has room to improve as a player, so fans have yet to see his best.

With Telvin Smith taking the year off and being placed on the Jags’ reserve/retired list, it freed up some cap space for them to extend Jack and begin getting a move on trying to keep all three of their top selections from the 2016 draft together (which included Yannick Ngakoue and Jalen Ramsey). Of course, with a new contract will come great responsibility for Jack, and with Smith gone, the Jags will look for him to fill the veteran’s shoes to the best of his abilities.
