Lonzo Ball carried his trend from the preseason and training camp by sporting the Kobe Protro 4s in the Pelicans season-opener at Toronto on Tuesday.
Ball spent the preseason wearing different colorways of the Kobe 4 Protros, including an eye-catching turquoise pair at Media Day along with teammate Jrue Holiday. Tuesday’s pair was a much more subtle black and yellow pair.
Ball isn’t the only one sporting the Kobe 4 Protros this preseason and regular season, joining DeMar DeRozan, Norman Powell, Devin Booker and PJ Tucker, among others.
Seeing Ball only wearing the Kobe Protro 4s and Nike shoes in general is a direct contrast to last season when he nearly exclusively sported his most-recent Big Baller Brand shoe, the ZO2.19. Ball sported multiple different colorways of the shoe throughout the year but was rarely seen in anything else.
But with an uncertain future for Ball and the company, Ball doesn’t appear to be as willing a representative as once before.
