LiAngelo Ball was memorably the first of the Ball brothers to break the seal on tattoos. In one of the more infamous scenes early in the family’s Facebook series “Ball in the Family,” Ball’s tattoo is revealed to his father LaVar, who was strictly against the idea of tattoos.
To LaVar’s credit, he eventually relented on the idea once he found out the meaning of some of the tattoos. And once LiAngelo broke the mold, the brothers followed. LaMelo got his own large chest tattoo and Lonzo has had the most extensive work done, most notably with his Black Excellence arm sleeve.
Circling back to to the beginnings, LiAngelo added his own enormous backpiece as shown off by artist Herchell L Carrasco, the same artist who did LaMelo’s chest piece, on Instagram on Friday.
Considering where this all started, the fact all three brothers have large tattoos is impressive. And they appear to all be tattoos that have some form of meaning, no matter how deep, to each of the brothers.
