Look inside palatial Majorca home Hollywood A-lister Michael Douglas is selling for £26m

Take a peek inside the cliff-top holiday home of a Hollywood A-lister that's up for sale at just £26million.

Michael Douglas has directed and voiced his own video in an attempt to sell the villa and retreat on the west coast of Majorca.

The S’Estaca estate first came on the market five years ago and Douglas - married to Catherine Zeta Jones - has massively reduced the price from £49m.

He has owned the palatial Spanish property for three decades - it was originally bought in 1990 with first wife Diandra Luker - and it has undergone a major refurbishment, while keeping its original style.

It includes seven buildings with five apartments, 10 bedrooms, a sports and massage room, wine cellar, and an artist’s studio, while maintaining much of its original Italian and Moorish architectural influences.

The 200-acre estate looks across the Mediterranean and features beautiful manicured gardens, a swimming pool and private beach, fruit and olive trees, and vineyards.

German luxury property agency Engel & Völkers posted the video. Its sales description reads: "Welcome to S'Estaca, perhaps the most exclusive villa on Majorca.

"The UNESCO world heritage site of Serra de Tramuntana on one side and the crystal-clear Mediterranean on the other: anyone who has been to S’Estaca will surely remember the immense beauty of its nature for the rest of their lives.

"The best view of this beautiful scenery is probably enjoyed from the Villa S’Estaca, which shares the name."

In the video Douglas, who starred in blockbusters like Fatal Attraction and Wall Street, describes his love for the property and the island of Majorca.

He says: “In the mid-19th Century, Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Habsburg bought a large piece of land on the northwest coast of the island and began to create a magical retreat.”

He said he hopes to sell the villa to someone who can appreciate the “privilege and adventure of s’Estaca”.

Douglas will pocket a tidy profit from the sale, even though the price has been slashed.  Movie legend Douglas paid just £3.5m for the villa and grounds.
