Look inside Nottingham beauty salon as it prepares to reopen with increased safety measures

Daily staff temperature checks, disposable equipment and free gloves and masks for customers will be among the new safety measures in place when a Nottingham beauty salon reopens.

Hair and beauty businesses are currently on course to reopen from July 4 under the Government's latest coronavirus guidelines, including the city centre's own Body & Soul Aesthetic, in St James's Street.

Owners Neha and Siddhartha Sharma are looking forward to welcoming back clients and have been working hard to provide "luxury along with peace of mind and a safe environment".

Neha, 31, who along with her husband Sid,

opened the salon in a former Salvation Army charity shop this spring

, has completed a Covid-19 course to understand and undertake all the important safety measures required.. Along with this all staff have also taken part in training.

For new or returning clients the biggest noticeable difference will probably be the array of screens in place as well as the disposable equipment being used. This will include disposable gloves, masks, aprons, towels, cutting caps and gowns, disposable pedicures liners and disposable headbands.

Neha said: "For every client new disposable files and cuticle pushers will be used and staff will be changing their gloves after every client and working stations will be sanitised-after every treatment.

"Temperature sheets for staff will be maintained and temperature will be recorded every morning. In regards to our clients we will be taking new measures like temperature checks, social distancing, hand sanitisers will be provided at the entrance along with free gloves and masks."

Card payments will be encouraged and Neha has requested clients come alone for their treatments to avoid overcrowding.

She said: "We are looking forward to welcoming our clients to a safe environment on July 4. We aim to provide them the luxury along with peace of mind and safe environment. We have already started taking booking via email, Facebook and Instagram and will be launching many new offers in coming days so that clients can save a bit of money in these difficult times.

"We plan to organise some exclusive evening sessions for our Covid-19 warriors/NHS staff as a token of our appreciation and we truly believe that they deserve a royal luxury relaxing treatments along with lot of appreciation for all there sacrifices and efforts."

Neha and her husband of five years first opened their business in intu Broadmarsh but due to the now stalled renovation works were forced to find new premises. They closed their St James's Street salon in March 21 in line with Government advice surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.
