McDonald's is opening its new Merseyside branch soon, but before it does the ECHO was given a sneak peek this afternoon.
The restaurant will be based at the site on Altcar Road which was previously occupied by MJ's Steakhouse.
Its team started work on the new restaurant back in January this year and although there were initial plans submitted by another company to build a gym above McDonald's these have since been withdrawn.
The new McDonald's will be opening on Wednesday, April 17 and will be owned and operated by franchisee Mark Blundell who has worked for the fast food chain for around 20 years and runs 10 restaurants throughout Liverpool.
As our photographs show, the restaurant will feature self-service kiosks and will also be one of the first in the country to have new digital menu boards at the drive thru.

In total there will be 279 seats, and will have free to use tablets and mobile phone charging points too.
There is also a patio seating area, a soft play area and a dedicated space just for arts and craffts.
Mark Blundell, franchisee, said: "I'm thrilled to be opening a new restaurant in Formby. I look forward to meeting our local customers and I am pleased to be expanding in Liverpool.

"I'm pleased to be able to offer more choice as to how people enjoy their McDonald's experience with this new digital restaurant."
The restaurant is also one of four in the country to offer new barista style coffee.
