Look for Trey Quinn to step into a playmaking role in 2019

After the loss of top-receiver Jamison Crowder, the Washington Redskins have a major hole to fill in the slot.

Enter Trey Quinn.

Quinn made a name for himself during the 2018 season by stepping in for an injured Crowder and pulling down his first touchdown in a game vs. the Dallas Cowboys. He also had a memorable celebration.

With Quinn now the prime slot receiver for Washington, the coaching staff is expecting big things from the young SMU graduate.

“Obviously losing Crowder hurts, hurts quite a bit,” Redskins coach Jay Gruden said during a media session at the NFL Annual Meetings in Phoenix on Tuesday. “But I’m ready to watch Trey Quinn jump in that slot role and dominate the position. I’m excited for him.”

There is still a lot of experience that Quinn needs to gain, but the young slot-receiver has shown that if he is given a chance, he will make the most of it.

If the Redskins are to have any success in the coming season, Quinn will need to be a crucial part of it.
