Look: Devonta Freeman gets ejected for throwing punch at Aaron Donald

Devonta Freeman picked a fight with Aaron Donald in the third quarter of Sunday’s game between the Falcons and Rams, and needless to say, it wasn’t a wide decision. After Cory Littleton’s interception, a scuffle broke out. Freeman threw a punch at Donald, who lifted the running back off the ground in response.

Freeman was ejected for punching Donald, which occurred right in front of the official.

Here’s a photo of the skirmish.

Freeman’s ejection left the Falcons thin at running back after Ito Smith took a big hit from Littleton and had to be carted off the field. It’s a credit to Donald for not getting himself ejected for retaliating, instead just pushing Freeman away.

It’s unclear why Freeman took issue with Donald after the play, but he probably should’ve thought wiser than to pick on the two-time Defensive Player of the Year.
