LOOK: Devin Funchess in a Colts uniform

The Indianapolis Colts made the signing of wide receiver Devin Funchess official Thursday afternoon and while we have to wait until the season to see him play in a game, there’s already an idea of what he might look like in the uniform.

Funchess signed a one-year deal with the Colts worth $10 million in base salary. He can earn up to an extra $3 million in incentives, which is something the Colts hope he can do.

There are several reasons to be optimistic about Funchess. He’s young, he’s a strong route runner for his size, and the Colts likely know how to use him as a red-zone threat.

He, of course, needs to work on being more consistent handling passes as he suffered a case of the drops during the second half of the 2018 season, and he also showed a struggle to fight through contact at times.

Regardless, the Colts are hoping he can reach his potential in an offense that threw the ball plenty in 2018.
