Look: Chargers’ Melvin Gordon previews new jersey

Wearing NFL jerseys has been a very popular way of fans supporting their favorite players for years now. For Chargers running back Melvin Gordon, he has decided to give his own a makeover.

Gordon modified the last name and changed number on his jersey starting next season. Even though it’s not a drastic difference, Gordon will be resorting to his college playing days at Wisconsin by adding III and going from No. 28 to 25. 25 was previously worn by safety Rayshawn Jenkins.

Below are two samples of Gordon’s crisp, new jerseys, courtesy of Chargers Hype, who screen-shotted them from his personal Instagram account.

It’s unlikely that fans will get rid of their original jersey that they own, simply because Gordon still plays for Los Angeles and it’s not like he betrayed the team by any means. Plus, the price of NFL jerseys are not cheap, at all.

The jerseys are not available for purchase at the moment, but they should be within the next few months. It would be a very cool idea if Gordon were to do some type of giveaway for the fans to potentially land one for no charge.
