MANILA, Philippines — Following the announcement of Jennylyn Mercado as Dr Maxine dela Cruz in the Filipino version of Descendants of the Sun, GMA 7 on Friday, October 4, released some behind-the-scenes photos of the show.

The photos showed the meeting of Dr Maxine and Captain Lucas, played by Dingdong Dantes, in the hospital.

Descendants of the Sun first aired in the Philippines back in 2016. The show, which became a big hit, starred Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo, who later became a real-life couple and got married in October 2017. The two, however, divorced last June.

Last April, Dingdong was announced to play the role of Captain Lucas. Rocco Nacino and Jasmine Curtis-Smith are also part of the cast. — Rappler.com
