TV star, comedian and general icon Magda Szubanski is set to be inducted into the Logies Hall of Fame, ahead of the 65th edition of the Australian awards ceremony on Sunday.
Szubanski — best known for her scene-stealing role as Sharon Strzelecki in Kath and Kim — was just announced as the newest Hall of Fame inductee by organisers, in honour of her decades-spanning TV career and unmatched ability to make us all collectively chuckle.
The actress will receive the honour at the 2025 Logies, set to kick off at The Star in Sydney on Sunday with Sam Pang as host.

It will mark only the fifth time a woman has been inducted into the Logies Hall of Fame following last year’s inductee Rebecca Gibney as well as Ruth Cracknell, Noni Hazlehurst, and Kerri-Anne Kennerley.
While you might know her as Kath and Kim’s most famous netballer, Szubanski’s career began back in the ’80s with sketch shows like The D-Generation and Full Frontal.
On the big screen, she has appeared in films like Babe and Happy Feet, and has elsewhere lent her comedic chops to a series of instantly iconic Uber Eats ads.
“[It] is not just a recognition of her illustrious career but a celebration of her remarkable personality and enduring relationship with Australian audiences,” TV Week wrote when announcing Szubanski’s induction on Saturday.

It comes just months after the comedian shared news that she had been diagnosed with stage four blood cancer, announcing the tragic update on social media in May.
“It’s serious, but I’ve started one of the best treatments available… and I’m lucky to be getting absolutely world-class care here in Melbourne,” Szubanski said.
The 65th edition of the Logie Awards will air on Sunday from 7pm, with Ally Langdon, Hamish Blake, Julia Morris, Lisa Millar, Lynne McGranger, Poh Ling Yeow and Sonia Kruger up for the shiniest award that is the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality.
Elsewhere, Apple Cider Vinegar leads with the most total nominations (8), with all nominees bracing for what will undoubtedly be Pang’s roast-filled (and hilarious) monologue.
