'Look at his face' - Roy Keane 'delighted' for Man Utd's Daniel James following Leeds United thrashing amid 'tough time' of it

Manchester United legend Roy Keane says he is "delighted" for Wales star Daniel James after his impressive showing against Leeds United.

James put a tough few months behind him to net the fifth goal in a 6-2 rout over Leeds at Old Trafford - a poignant strike for the youngster against the team who pursued him enthusiastically last year.

The 23-year-old Wales winger has struggled for form and game-time under Solskjaer this team, and his inclusion against Marcelo Bielsa's men surprised many, including Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville.

But Keane was left impressed with James' showing against the Whites.

“He’s had a tough time. He’s had a tough time since he’s gone to United. He started off his career at United really well, but had a difficult few months," he told Sky Sports.

"Again, credit to Ole - he probably thought it was gonna be his kind of game and it’s gonna be open. Going to United was a big move for him.

"Look at his face, it meant a lot to the kid and I’m delighted for him. Playing for Man United is not as easy as everyone thinks, there’s a lot of pressure.”

Keane concurred with Neville, who said in commentary that picking the former Swansea City forward was a "masterstroke" from the manager.

He said: "I was surprised when I saw James on the team sheet.

"But it looks like a masterstroke from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with the amount of space in this game.

"It's been the perfect game for him."
