LOOK: Aaron Donald still putting in usual work during isolation

The coronavirus pandemic has put things on hold across the country, including offseason workout programs for all NFL teams. That hasn’t stopped Aaron Donald from putting in work and staying in shape, of course.

The Rams were supposed to be in the early stages of their offseason workout program this week with OTAs starting soon, too. Donald is filling the time not by binge-watching “Tiger King” on Netflix, but by doing sprints, footwork drills and lifting almost every single day.

He shared a few video clips of his workouts on Instagram, putting in work with his nephew Elliot Donald.

No one truly knows when the NFL season will begin, or whether there will even be training camps taking place. But Donald isn’t preparing as though the season will be pushed back. He’s still going through his usual work as if it’ll begin in September as it always does.

“It gets a little boring training by yourself, but I still get the opportunity to get good work in,” Donald told Rich Hammond of The Athletic. “And I’m still finding ways to keep myself in shape and do as much as I can to make sure I’m ready, whenever that time may be.

“It’s a lot more because I don’t have nothing else to do. All you can do is train. That’s how you keep your mind straight. Instead of just sitting around, I might just go down to my dad’s basement and work out for an hour or two hours, just try to break a good sweat and self-motivate myself.”

Donald is coming off yet another All-Pro season, recording 12.5 sacks and an NFL-high 20 tackles for loss. He didn’t reach 20 sacks like he did in 2018, but Donald remains the best defensive player in football.

Donald told Hammond that he’s working out six days a week, which should come as no surprise. It’s his unmatched work ethic and relentless effort that help put him at the top of the class.
