One of the most entertaining parts of Lonzo Ball’s time with the Los Angeles Lakers was the social media war between him, Kyle Kuzma and Josh Hart. In fact, it got so bad at one point that Lakers management had to step in and ask their young players to tone it down.
While Ball surely doesn’t want to get into trouble for teasing his teammates again, he brought some of that cruel humor with him to New Orleans. On Monday, Ball posted a video of him teasing Pelicans rookies Zion Williamson for “trying to be hard” during a photo op:
Williamson’s fellow rookie teammates, Jaxson Hayes and Nickeil Alexander-Walker, had a good laugh about it, but it was Williamson who would end up having the last laugh. On Tuesday, Williamson caught Ball while he was having a tough time with his physical therapy and posted it on his Instagram:
Expect this type of back-and-forth between Ball and Williamson to continue throughout the season, and don’t be surprised to see a few of their other teammates, like Hart, jump in on the fun.
