Lonzo Ball, Zach LaVine’s bond goes back to their UCLA roots

The Chicago Bulls added another UCLA Bruin to their backcourt this offseason.

Lonzo Ball signed a four-year, $85 million deal to team up with fellow Bruin in the Windy City.

On Friday, Ball spoke about his bond with LaVine during his introductory media availability.

“I first met Zach when I was getting recruited at UCLA. I used to watch him play all the time, sitting with my family in the recruitment section, he was a human highlight reel and that’s where the bond started, kept up communication to this day and now we’re teammates,” Ball said.

Both Ball and LaVine only played one college season at UCLA before declaring for the NBA draft. LaVine played for the Bruins in 2013-14 while Ball played in 2016-17.
