Lonzo Ball took a shot at the Lakers in his newly released rap single

When the Los Angeles Lakers drafted Lonzo Ball out of UCLA, Magic Johnson didn’t shy away from setting high expectations for the point guard. Fast forward two years, and both Magic and Lonzo are no longer with the Lakers.

Los Angeles traded Lonzo this offseason (along with Josh Hart and Brandon Ingram) as part of the blockbuster deal to acquire Anthony Davis. Lonzo found out about the trade while traveling to his youngest brother’s Drew League game, but generally, he hadn’t made any disparaging remarks about the Lakers on his way out.

Until now, that is.

Lonzo dropped a new rap single, “Last Days,” and he fit in some honest commentary on the Lakers trade. (Warning: NSFW language)

He said:

“You know I’m all about business.

LA is going to regret their decision.”

Of course, most players would use a trade like that as a source of motivation, and that appears to be what Lonzo is doing with this line. But he also knows how NBA Twitter works, and that everyone would notice that jab at the Lakers.

He clearly wanted the Lakers to get the message.
