In an interview with the Players Tribune, Lonzo Ball was asked a laundry list of questions pertaining to unstoppable players past and present. Ball gave a lot of very interesting answers in a very quick span, calling Kevin Durant the most unstoppable current player, Kobe Bryant the most unstoppable player he watched growing up and Michael Jordan the most unstoppable player from a different generation.
Ball was then asked about some unstoppable pairings, which produced the most interesting answer. After being asked for the most unstoppable duo in the league, Ball first said Brandon Ingram and Jrue Holiday before being forced to choose a duo outside of New Orleans. Ball, maybe surprisingly, picked LeBron James and Anthony Davis. He also picked both Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal and Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen as the most unstoppable duo all-time.
Ball also named James Harden’s stepback as the most unstoppable move, the Raptors as the most unstoppable team and Kawhi Leonard as the best two-way player in the league.
Obviously, the takeaway is that Ball sees James and Davis as the most unstoppable duo over the likes of Leonard and Paul George or Harden and Russell Westbrook. It’s a bit of change from recent comments made this summer where Ball said it’d be a toss-up between the Clippers and Lakers.
Also as a self-proclaimed lifelong James fan, seeing Ball call Jordan the greatest of all-time and Bryant the most unstoppable player when he was growing up are interesting answers.
