Lonzo Ball says he’s ‘squashed’ beef with LaVar, would ‘love’ to stay with Big Baller Brand

The tension between Lonzo Ball and his father, LaVar Ball, has been palpable since it was revealed that Big Baller Brand co-founder Alan Foster stole millions of dollars from Lonzo under LaVar’s watch. However, as time has passed, it seems as though Lonzo and LaVar have made up.

During an appearance on the Lightharted Podcast with his New Orleans Pelicans teammate Josh Hart, Lonzo said that he and LaVar are on good terms and that he’s even open to doing business with his father again, so long as things are done on Lonzo’s terms this around:

“It’s all good. We got into it, me and my dad, but we cool now — we squashed it. It’s always going to be a family brand regardless of whether I go to Nike, or Adidas, or anybody, but I would love to stay. But I’ve got family now I’ve got to look out for and if it’s not ran the way I want it to be run and not doing what I want it to do, then I’ve got to move on.”

This type of mindset is consistent with the message Lonzo has been sending since being betrayed by Foster, his former business partner and longtime family friend. The message? Lonzo is his own man now.

It’s for that same reason Lonzo felt the need to respond to a report that LaVar was leading the search for Lonzo’s new agent in March. Before, Lonzo would let that type of thing slide. Now, he’s taking things into his own hands and he wants everyone to know it.

You can watch Lonzo’s full interview with Hart and his co-host, Matt Hillman, below.
