Lonzo Ball says he and LaMelo are both 6’7″

Lonzo Ball is tall for a point guard. In fact, last season, the 6’6″ former UCLA product was the second-tallest starting point guard in the league last season behind Ben Simmons, who is 6’9″ and built like a power forward.

However, during a recent interview with Real 92.3 LA,  Ball said that he’s actually an inch taller than what he’s listed as on NBA.com. Even more impressive than that, though, is the fact that he said his young brother, LaMelo, is just as tall as him:

How tall are you now?

Like 6’7”. Damn!

And how tall is Melo? Because he looks like he got taller.

About 6’7” too, but he’s 17, though. I’m 21.

The Illawarra Hawks don’t have LaMelo’s height listed on their site, but the most recent pictures of him next to Lonzo back up his older brother’s saying.

If LaMelo is truly 6’7″, that should work in his favor when the 2020 NBA Draft rolls around. Not only does it give him an advantage offensively, but it raises his potential on the defensive end as well.

As for Lonzo, his 6’7″ frame should allow New Orleans Pelicans head coach to plug him in at different spots, which will be crucial to Lonzo getting playing time in a crowded backcourt.
