Lonzo Ball returns to New Orleans as Pelicans near return to court

As the NBA nears its return to the court and competition, players were required to report to their home market by the end of Monday before the league enters Phase 2 of its restart. Between June 12 and June 22, players could return to their home market and begin individual workouts at team facilities.

And after spending nearly all of the lockdown period in Chino Hills with his family, Lonzo Ball returned to New Orleans on Monday. Ball shared a post to his Instagram Story announcing his return to Louisiana.

Tuesday marks the beginning of the second phase of the NBA’s restart. In this phase which lasts until June 30, teams will begin mandatory testing and players are encouraged to self-quarantine with trips to workouts and essential activities being the only exceptions.

Ball, along with Brandon Ingram, was one of the last players to work out at the Pelicans’ facility before the league fully shut down in March. Currently, the league is scheduled to start again at the end of June in Orlando.
