Lonzo Ball remains out with bilateral knee tendinopathy for Pelicans vs. Lakers on Friday

Lonzo Ball will miss his second-consecutive game for the Pelicans against the Lakers, the Pelicans announced on Thursday. In the team’s injury report released ahead of Friday’s game, Ball remained out with bilateral knee tendinopathy.

Zion Williamson will return to the starting lineup after missing Wednesday’s game against the Clippers due to health and safety protocols. Eric Bledsoe, the third starter that missed the Clippers game, is still listed as questionable with eye irritation.

As for Ball, head coach Stan Van Gundy provided some more details on his status prior to Wednesday’s game.

“Lonzo’s got some of that tendinopathy, and he’s working hard at the rehab. When he’s ready to go, he’ll be ready to go. I don’t know when that’ll be. Will that be the next game against the Lakers? Will it be Sacramento? Utah? I don’t know.”

As Van Gundy noted, the Pelicans have multiple games remaining on their road trip with contests at Sacramento on Sunday and the Jazz on Tuesday and Thursday.
