Lonzo Ball calls Monday’s win over Trail Blazers a ‘team win’

The New Orleans Pelicans had one of their bigger wins of the season on Monday evening, knocking off the Portland Trail Blazers on the road in the third leg of their current road trip, 102-94. Foul trouble throughout the game led to 12 players seeing the court for the Pelicans on the night. That even precluded Lonzo Ball moving back into the starting lineup for Kenrich Williams with the latter stuck in a shooting slump.

After the contest, Ball noted the contributions from all 12 players in the win on the night.

“It was a team win. Everyone who got their name called came in and did what they were supposed to do. We got big minutes from E’Twaun, Kenrich, especially in that fourth quarter.”

Ten of the 12 players who saw time on the court on the night scored. In the fourth quarter, E’Twaun Moore and Kenrich Williams each played all 12 minutes along with Jrue Holiday and Brandon Ingram. That four-man lineup on the night finished with a net rating of 17.0 and a defensive rating of 73.9 with all 12 minutes coming in the fourth quarter.

With the Pelicans searching for answers to break out of their slump, getting contributions off the bench is added bonuses and key to breaking out of ruts.
