Remember when Lonzo Ball broke out those Big Baller Brand ZO2’s, which were going to be sold for $500 but then had to be redesigned before being released?
Well, apparently those first shoes were really garbage because the former Lakers guard explained recently on Josh Hart’s “LightHarted Podcast” that they weren’t ready when he wore them in his rookie summer league and that he had to wear a new pair every quarter because they would “explode” after such little use.
Yeah, that’s not great.
Ball said:
“If you literally have my shoes from those games they just like exploded, bro.”
“I had to debut them. We went so far with it, it was like, cool, I can get a quarter in, but that’s it. And it’s crazy, because right when I switched my shoes, all of a sudden, magically I got good again,”
Here he is explaining how bad the shoes were:
This story is so on brand with the Big Baller Brand.
RIP, ZO2s:
