Longstone Place attack: Two arrested after assault which left 39-year-old in hospital

Two people have been arrested after a serious assault on an Edinburgh street which left a 39-year-old man in hospital.

Emergency services were called to Longstone Place, near Kingsknowe Road North, at around 9.45pm on Saturday, 18 May after reports that a man had been attacked.

When they arrived they found a person badly hurt and he was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Two men, aged 39 and 38, were then arrested and they are due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court tomorrow (Tuesday).

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a serious assault that occurred on Longstone Place, Edinburgh, around 9.45pm on Saturday 18 May 2019.

"A 39-year-old man was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.

"Two men - aged 39 and 38 - have been arrested and will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday 21 May."
