Longford model Maura Higgins set to take Love Island villa by storm

An Irish model is set to take the Love Island villa by storm tonight.

Maura Higgins was announced as one part of a two-pronged bombshell set to rock the villa at the end of last night’s episode.

Less than two weeks into the series, the Longford-born beauty will join the cast alongside fellow newcomer Elma Pazar from Essex.

The 28-year-old, who already has 40,000 followers on Instagram, will become the second Irish girl to enter the Love Island villa this year, alongside Yewande Biala.

And the grid girl admitted she is ready to do what it takes to find love on the Spanish island this summer.

She said: “I’d go extreme. It can obviously be hard because you could be really close with one of the girls but you’re in there to find love at the end of the day.”

Describing what will make her the perfect Love Islander, she said: “I’m outgoing and I really am looking to find love.

“I’m a relationship type of girl. I hate being single. I was in a nine-year relationship that finished a few years ago.

“Then I was with another guy, we broke up last year sometime, then we got back together but the trust was gone and it’s not going to come back. It ended quite recently.

“As the trust is just gone, for me, there is no going back.”

And it looks like she’s set to make herself heard in the villa after admitting her worst personality trait: “I talk over people… a lot!

“I even notice myself doing it. I’m not a good cook. I’m also quite critical of myself. But I would say I’m a really good girlfriend, I’m very honest and I’m caring.”

And Maura knows what she’s looking for in a potential match. She said: “I would go for personality more than anything. I would definitely look for someone who is really honest and a very confident guy, but not arrogant and definitely someone who makes me laugh.

“They have to have banter, without a doubt.”

But warning what could be an immediate turn off for her in a partner, she added: “Arrogance and someone who acts different around their friends. I can’t bear that.”

But there’s one less boy in the villa to find love with after Sherif Lanre was kicked off just nine days into the series. A source revealed yesterday t the 20-year-old chef was forced to leave the villa with immediate effect after crisis talks with producers.

While it’s still unclear exactly what Sherif has done to warrant such action, the semi-pro rugby player confessed to breaking the strict rules inside the villa.

Commenting on his shock departure, Sherif said in a statement: “In a case of poor judgment, I broke the villa rules and as a result agreed with the producers that it was best for me to leave the villa.

“I regret that I didn’t conduct myself in the right way and, as a 20-year-old guy, it’s something I know I will take on board and learn from.

“I really enjoyed my time in the villa and look forward to catching up with everyone on the outside.”

Alluding that the decision to remove Sherif from the villa was mutual, a Love Island spokesperson added: “After breaking the villa rules Sherif had conversations with the producers and it was mutually agreed that he would leave the Love Island villa.”
