The long-serving group finance director of a company which works with the likes of BP, Shell and Airbus is set to step down next month.
Stuart Kilpatrick, who has been at James Fisher and Sons for more than ten years, will leave his position on April 29.
The board of the Cumbria-headquartered provider of services to the marine, oil and gas industries has started a search for his successor.
Mr Kilpatrick said: "It has been a great privilege to have played a part in the development of James Fisher and to work with some outstanding people over the last ten years.
"I consider it time now for a new challenge and I wish my colleagues the best for the future."
Chairman Malcolm Paul added "On behalf of the board I would like to thank Stuart for his dedication and exceptional service to James Fisher.
"Stuart has made an outstanding contribution to the strategic development and financial management of the group."
Before joining James Fisher and Sons, Mr Kilpatrick was group finance director at Empresaria Group and has also held roles with Elementis Group, Charles Baynes, Vodafone and Wace Group.
The news comes after James Fisher and Sons released figures which revealed it had started 2021 well after its turnover and profits were hit by the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
