Clubbers were seen queuing up outside Nottingham's nightclubs on Saturday night as many have already started celebrating their return on campus.
It comes after Freshers Week got underway on Friday (September 17) with students returning to the city after a long summer break.
Queues snaked along Talbot Street, outside popular Rock City and continued on Goldsmith Street at around 9.50pm on Saturday night (September 18).
It coincides with the first weekend of students' return to the city for the traditional week of clubbing and partying that takes place during Freshers Week before the academic year officially begins.
It comes after the gig that was initially scheduled at the venue was cancelled due to the passing of a member of the band which had been due to perform.
The notice on the Rock City website reads: "We are sorry to say that due to the sad passing of Frederick ‘Toots’ Hibbert, our Toots and the Maytals show is cancelled.
"Please contact your ticket provider for refunds."
Rock City have been approached for comment.
