The line to vote at the student union at the University of Nevada, Reno, was approximately an hour long as of 8:15 p.m. local time, as reported by a county poll worker at the location. Earlier in the evening, the wait time was as long as three hours but has since decreased significantly after the polls closed at 7 p.m. The extended line was attributed in part to a surge of students who registered on Election Day.

One of the students in line, Edwin Calva, a 20-year-old sophomore from Las Vegas, made a last-minute dash to the polling place. He skateboarded from his chemistry class and arrived just three minutes before the polls closed. Despite having already waited for about an hour and a half, he was prepared to endure another hour to cast his vote. Calva expressed his belief in the importance of voting, stating, 'I've been preaching all day to my friends about how important it is to vote. I would feel bad for not doing my part for the country.' He mentioned his intention to vote for Kamala Harris.
