Two lanes are closed on the M6 this morning after a crash, leading to long delays for rush hour commuters.
The crash happened at junction 20, the Lymm Interchange, on the southbound carriageway of the motorway.

As of 7:30am on Wednesday (August 4) morning, congestion went all the way back from junction 20 to junction 22.
That means major junctions between the M6/M56 and M6/M62 are snarled up.
A tweet from Highways England’s north west team said: “M6 southbound at J20 / Lymm Services (Lymm Interchange, A50, Lymm Poplar 2000 Services) two lanes have been closed due to a collision.
“Congestion is currently back to junction 22 on the southbound over Thelwall Viaduct.”
Another tweet from the agency a few moments later confirmed the scale of delays motorists were experiencing.

It said: “There are currently delays of up to 40 minutes with congestion back to junction 22.
