Long delays on A86 near Edinburgh's City Bypass after deer hit by vehicle

There were long delays on the A68 near Edinburgh's City Bypass this morning as police dealt with an injured deer on the road.

The animal was struck by a vehicle on the route, between the Salters Road junction and Millerhill.

As of 7.25am police were on the scene operating a contraflow in order to move traffic away from the deer and long queues were building.

However traffic began to ease around an hour later after the deer was removed from the road.
