Long delays in Chapeltown after manhole cover collapse

Drivers are stuck in long delays in north Leeds after a busy road was closed for emergency repairs.

Leeds City Council has confirmed that Roundhay Road was closed shortly after 4.30pm on Tuesday, March 26 after a manhole collapsed.

Council contractors are now carrying out emergency repairs on the collapsed manhole, which is near the roads junctions with Spencer Place.

The road is currently closed between Roseville Road and Bayswater Road and motorists and buses are being diverted.

The closure is causing long delays on Roundhay Road and the surrounding roads.

It is not yet clear how long the closure will be in place for.
