DRIVERS are facing long delays travelling on the A82 after the collapse of a manhole cover.

The issue was first reported at around 3.30pm on Tuesday, August 11, and travellers are being advised of subsequent delays of over half an hour.

BT, Amey and Openreach are currently on site at the collapse which is located on lane one of the dual carriageway heading southbound.

Lomond and Clyde Taxis are reported high volumes of traffic in Dumbarton, as a knock on effect of the disruption.

Their is no current timescale on when the repair work is to be completed, however, Traffic Scotland say it it hoped this will take place tonight.

Delays of 25 minutes are currently being reported on the A82 southbound whilst the delay on the A814 approach to A82 at Lindsey's Garage is reaching up to 33 minutes.
