It's official: Witch Hat Atelier is getting a same-day English dub – and we're being treated to a double-episode premiere. Crunchyroll announced the news ahead of the show's long-awaited premiere next month.
The manga adaptation follows Coco, a young aspiring witch, but she has one pretty big problem: she was born without any powers. However, per the official synopsis, "when a young witch named Qifrey visits her village, Coco uncovers the 'absolute secret,' becomes Qifrey’s apprentice, and begins her studies. This is the story of children who encounter despair, yet reach out toward hope."
The English dub voice cast includes MASHLE: MAGIC AND MUSCLES' Anjali Kunapaneni as Coco, In the Clear Moonlit Dusk's Joshua A. Waters as Qifrey, ZENSHU's Madeleine Morris as Agott, and Chainsaw Man's Sarah Wiedenheft as Tetia.
The anime has been in the works since 2019, with the release date pushed back a year from 2025 to 2026, and the team behind it has promised big things. "We want to create something akin to a Hollywood blockbuster. Something profound like The Lord of the Rings," one of the producers said last year.
"That may seem like a long time, but if you read the manga, you'll get the picture. Figuring out how to transform the manga's extremely intricate illustrations into an anime is taking time."
Ayumu Watanabe, who has previously worked on titles like Summer Time Rendering and Children of the Sea, will direct the series.
Witch Hat Atelier premieres on Crunchyroll on April 6. For more on what to watch, check out our guide to all the new anime coming our way in 2026.
