Monks chant sutras before Buddhist statues, including the thousand-armed Kannon Bodhisattva standing statue, in Kannondo hall of Ninnaji temple in Kyoto on Wednesday. The hall underwent a six-year restoration, its first in 370 years, and was specially open to the public the same day. The UNESCO World Hertiage site in Ukyo Ward is connected to the Imperial family.
