After a short delay from its original December 3 release window, Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders has arrived on PlayStation 5. The skiing title, which previously found success on Steam and Xbox Game Pass with more than one million players, is now available on Sony’s console for $24.99. The PlayStation 5 version includes a full year of updates, including the Freestylers update that introduced Trick Mode along with the familiar Free Style mode seen in Lonely Mountains: Downhill. The newly released Highlands DLC is also available as an optional purchase.
At its core, the game is all about carving your way down expansive mountain landscapes. Players ski through deep snow, glide across frozen lakes and launch off massive jumps while taking in a wide range of scenic environments. Each run encourages experimentation, whether that means pushing for speed, pulling off tricks or simply enjoying the ride.
Those looking for a challenge can chase leaderboard times, link together risky tricks or hunt for hidden shortcuts scattered across the slopes. Online multiplayer adds another layer, allowing friends to team up for co-op descents or race one another to the bottom. With crossplay support for up to eight players, it is easy to jump in with others regardless of platform.
As players progress, new equipment, outfits and tricks become available, offering plenty of reasons to keep returning to the mountains. As a follow-up to Lonely Mountains: Downhill, Snow Riders builds on what worked before while expanding the experience with new modes and multiplayer options.
