Lone young child found 'running near road' after climbing over school fence in Swansea

A young child was found wandering alone near a road close to a Swansea primary school.

The child is understood to have been found close to Cadle Primary School in Ravenhill which is on Middle Road, just off the busy Carmarthen Road dual carriageway.

The child is said to have been on its own and was returned to the school.

Cadle Primary School said, however, that at no time was a child missing from the school, although it did say a pupil had climbed over a fence bordering the school.

It is thought that the child was found at some time around 11am on Monday (June 10) and was said to have been running near the road.

One witness said the child "seemed calm".

A spokesman for Cadle Primary School said: “A child did climb a fence into the community farm that borders the school and we are reviewing the fencing at that location.

“The child was safely returned within seconds.”

This is the second incident where a young child has been found on their own in the last five days, in a similar area.

Just last week a child was found wandering the streets alone in a onesie next to one of the busiest roads in Swansea .

The worrying incident was reported to police at 5.55am on Thursday, June 6, after the child was spotted in Carmarthen Road.

South Wales Police confirmed the child in the June 6 incident had gone missing but had been located safe and well.
