Lone Scots woman chased and assaulted twice by spotty thug sparking police probe

A Scots woman was chased and assaulted twice by a spotty thug sparking a police probe.

The victim in her mid 20s was attacked by a man in Lochend Road in Carnoustie before managing to run away.

But the vicious yob caught up to her on Barry Road and assaulted her again.

Two members of the public then spotted the horror attack and rushed over to help the woman.

Officers are now investigating an incident which happened between 7:30 – 7:50pm on Thursday 24th June.

The suspect is described as a white male, 30 years of age, 5ft 10 and slim build with a spotty complexion.

Officers are urging anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We are following positive lines of enquiry, but would still like to trace the potential witness who provided assistance, along with anyone else who saw part or all of this incident.

"The road was busy at the time, and we would particularly like to hear from anyone who drove past and may have dashcam footage.

"If you have any information that could assist our investigation, please call 101 or speak with any police officer.

"Also, information can be given anonymously through CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111. Our reference is incident 3025 of 24th June."
