FORT QU'APPELLE, Sask. — A man has been taken to hospital by STARS air ambulance after a small plane crash in southern Saskatchewan.
Mounties say the plane crashed into a ravine into a remote area southeast of Kelliher, about 45 minutes north of Fort Qu'Appelle.
Darcy King was asked by the volunteer fire department to help them get to the scene with his all-terrain vehicle.
King says a man driving a fuel truck saw the plane go down.
He and volunteer firefighters got the pilot out of the plane and waited for the air ambulance to come.
Police say the man was the only person in the plane and it's not known how serious his injuries are.
"No one would have seen him, probably until winter time, until we would snowmobile in that area," King said.
