London’s new Final Film Festival to spotlight rarely screened hidden gems

  • The Final Film Festival, a new four-day event, is set to launch in London from 6 to 9 August.
  • Co-organisers Kit Ramsay and Jack Hewitt conceived the festival to offer an alternative to existing events like the London Film Festival , focusing on international premieres and rarely screened hidden gems.
  • The festival's programme includes a diverse range of films, from surreal comedies like Perfumania starring Tim Heidecker and Julia Fox , to Patrick Wang’s three-hour biopic A Rimbaud , and a new restoration of the notorious pseudo-documentary Faces of Death.
  • Screenings will take place at various London cinemas, including the ICA, The Castle Cinema, and the Peckhamplex.
  • “My dream is that we could provide a launching pad for films made by Londoners or British filmmakers,” Hewitt said.
