A suspected robber was tackled in the street by passers-by after an alleged ram-raid on a jewellery shop in west London.
Dramatic footage showed members of the public kicking and punching the man as he attempted to flee the scene of a smash-and-grab robbery in Shepherd's Bush.
Scotland Yard said officers were called shortly before 5.30pm on Friday after a car was reportedly driven into the front of the store.
Three men were said to have got out the car and tried to steal from the shop.
A video posted on social media appeared to show three individuals wearing motorcycle helmets run out of eSmart Money and Sultan Jewellery, a combined foreign exchange and jewellery business.
The video footage shows onlookers appearing to confront the suspects while they are in the jewellers on Uxbridge Road. Two of the alleged robbers leave the shop brandish hammers, while the the third is seen holding a bag.
The armed men sprinted off along the busy high street, while the third tumbles to the ground in the middle of the road and is quickly surrounded by a group of people.
For several seconds the suspect is pinned down and is repeatedly kicked and punched before officers arrive to handcuff him.
The Metropolitan Police said one male, whose age is currently unknown, was arrested on suspicion of robbery.
Officers were making enquiries to locate at least two other suspects who fled the scene, a spokesperson said.
The force added it was aware of the video posted online and was "assessing" it.
