Welcome back the the Londoner’s Diary. Last night three Johnsons, including Stanley, Rachel and Jo, joined BBC director General Tim Davie, actor Anna Friel and vaccines minister Nadhim Zahawi at the Standard’s summer party where we said goodbye to our long-standing political editor, Joe Murphy. MPs David Lammy, Tulip Siddiq, Paul Scully and Andrew Mitchell as well as polling guru Isaac Levido, and special adviser Rob Oxley all attended. In SW1A former Home Secretary Amber Rudd explains why she’s left some politicos slightly jealous and wild rumours were flying last night about the next chair of Ofcom.
