Eddie Izzard
(Picture: Dave Benett)Welcome back to the last Londoner’s Diary of the week. First up we hear how the battle between Westminster’s street performers and Westminster City Council is raging on with Eddie Izzard telling us the council is “making it very tough”. Later today we hear the Lion King’s post-pandemic opening night was nearly cancelled due to problems with the puppets and Jack Whitehall says he had to pass up the role of Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid because he couldn’t bear to send in the audition tape in which he read out a romantic scene with his mum. In SW1A we learn Dominic Cummings approached online magazine UnHerd with the hope of becoming a columnist and Amanda Pritchard is replacing Lord Stevens as NHS chief executive but there’s something a bit off with the press release.
