The Londoner hears Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie are planning a champagne-soaked soirée at Chequers to celebrate their first wedding anniversary.

Having been the first PM to tie the knot in office in just under 200 years the loved-up couple had to get married at short notice in Westminster Cathedral among just 30 guests, including siblings Rachel and Jo Johnson, due to Covid restrictions. Afterwards, a No 10 spokesman said they ‘will celebrate their wedding with family and friends next summer.’ Now the Johnsons have sent invitations to the party which will be in the coming weeks.

Our source says: “There’s nothing like a party in Chequers to bring aggrieved backbenchers into the fold!” Quite so!

Channel 4 presenter Kirstie Allsop swallowed an Airpod (Dave Benett)

Kirstie Allsopp ate an AirPod, having somehow confused it with a pill. “I just swallowed an AirPod while downing my vitamins,” the Location, Location, Location star told her Twitter followers, before assuring her fans that she has avoided medical intervention. “I’ve managed to chuck it back up without having to go to hospital, but my throat is really quite sore.” Perhaps it would have been that much easier to let nature take its course.

Chris Martin tips servers love badges instead of cash (Scott Roth/Invision/AP)

WE clocked Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson in unfashionable Holland Park boozer The Castle last night. Fresh from Glasto, the Coldplay singer ordered two G&Ts before leaving Dakota to sip her drink alone while he preened himself in the gents’ loo. After they left, the bemused waitress told us Chris presented her with a badge that said “Love” on it instead of a cash tip. What happened to Fair Trade Chris?

New Gen Glastogoers settled in nicely, as Iris Law rolled in with Romeo Beckham’s girlfriend Mia Regan. The festival veterans were also out in expected force. Kate Moss cuddled up to rock icon Bruce Springsteen, Cara Delevingne, Rosemary Ferguson, Noel Gallagher and Stella McCartney, who cheered on dad Sir Paul for his Saturday night epic on the Pyramid stage. Paul Mescal was also spotted at Worthy Farm supporting his girlfriend Phoebe Bridgers, before joining rapper Tinie Tempah and boxer Ramla Ali at the Goodwood Festival Of Speed yesterday.
