Londoner finds ‘long-lost twin’ with the same name on TikTok

A Londoner has found her “long-lost twin” on TikTok — and they even share the same name.

Writer Lucy Ford dueted a video from another TikTok user — a blogger also named Lucy Ford — and said: “I’m so sorry to interrupt, you look great. But what the hell is going on?

“I’m also called Lucy Ford, I live in London, and this is how I dress. Um, hello!”

Both Lucys have a red bob hairstyle, and both were wearing long black and white dresses with blue waistcoats.

Blogger Lucy Ford commented: “OMG HELLO LONG LOST TWIN,” AND “If this isn’t a sign for us to be friends I’m not sure what is.”

Writer Lucy Ford (who pointed out their similarities) said: “The universe has simply given us no other choice.”

One viewer commented: “I hope you two meet and become besties and this becomes a Netflix show.”

Another said: “This is a ‘did we just become best friends?’ moment.”

A third TikTok user said: “I’m so invested in this glitch in our reality.”

She later told her Twitter followers that they’d be meeting up for coffee.

The other Lucy Ford commented, “I think we’ve truly had our Spider-Man moment,” and shared the Spider-Man pointing meme.

Earlier this year, a doppelgänger trend took over TikTok — but with slightly less wholesome vibes.

The trend saw people making spooky videos to the sound, “If you see another person who looks identical to you, run away and hide.”

The sound appeared to originate from a short film on YouTube called The Mandela Catalogue Vol. 1, in which seeing your doppelgänger meant that you were in trouble. The doppelgängers “use psychological warfare to take advantage of their victims”.

But, hopefully, the Lucy Ford and Lucy Ford meet-up will give a (much-needed) wholesome spin to the doppelgänger TikTok trend.
