London Zoo: First look at Animal Adventure section as it reopens after devastating fire

This is the first look at the Animal Adventure section of London Zoo as it re-opens after a fire.

It has been closed since the blaze in 2017, in which an aardvark and four meerkats died. But the attraction — part petting zoo — will be open to the public from tomorrow.

The 32,000 sq ft “adventure-themed playpark” features a replica of Charles Darwin’s HMS Beagle — complete with swinging bridges, slides and ladders — a miniature climbing wall and a treetop rope course.

Some 40 creatures have already moved into their new home, where four-year-old Mason Avery, right with keeper Veronica Heldt, was among the first to meet them.
