London travel news LIVE: London Underground lines running again after RMT's five-day strike ends

London Underground services have sprung back to life after five days of travel chaos caused by the RMT strike.

All Tube lines were back in operation by 8.30am - ahead of schedule - although many were suffering severe delays, according to TfL.

The Docklands Light Railway is also back up and running after it was hit by a strike over a separate issue on Thursday.

It comes a day after London Underground invited union leaders to talks next week in a bid to resolve a dispute over pay and hours which led to the walkouts.

Chancery Lane station closed

Tickets are being accepted on London Buses.

Bakerloo line providing a good service

The Bakerloo line is now providing a good service.

Minior delays on the Bakerloo and Victoria lines

Both Bakerloo and Victoria lines are facing minor delays.

District and Piccadilly are reporting severe delays.

Disruption through Marks Tey expected until 2pm

A fault with the signalling system at Marks Tey means that some lines are blocked. As a result, trains running through this station may be delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 14:00.

Some train services may terminate and start from Colchester.

Advance purchase tickets holders will be allowed to travel on earlier or later trains if their booked service is cancelled.

Routes impacted

Between London Liverpool Street and Clacton-on-Sea / Ipswich / Norwich, and also between Marks Tey and Sudbury

District line part suspended

No service between Turnham Green and Ealing Common while TfL fix faulty train at Ealing Common.

There is a good service on the rest of the line.

London Underground tickets will be accepted on London buses and South West Trains.

Bakerloo line reporting minor delays

Central line part suspended

No service between Hainault and Woodford while a signal failure at Grange Hill is fixed.

There is a good service on the rest of the line.

Poor weather may affect your journey in England and Wales on Sunday and Monday

The Met Office have issued yellow weather warnings for high winds affecting parts of England and Wales on Sunday 14 and Monday 15 September.

This can mean that speed restrictions are implemented to ensure trains are able to run safely on the railway.

Check before you travel, and allow extra time for your journey on the affected days.

Services may be subject to delays and cancellations as a result of the poor weather.

Jubilee line reporting minor delays

Service on the Jubilee line is improving as its now reporting minor delays instead of severe.

Amended 23:37 London Paddington to Didcot Parkway service

Engineering work is taking place between Tilehurst and Didcot Parkway, closing some lines on Friday night.

As a result, the 23:37 London Paddington to Didcot Parkway service will not call at Pangbourne.

Replacement buses will run between Tilehurst and Pangbourne, connecting with the train.

Delays on A501 Euston Road after a collision

Delays on Euston Road (both directions) at the junction of Dukes Road.

There are temporary traffic signals in operation after a collision.

Northern and Piccadilly lines providing a good service

Severe delays on the Bakerloo and District lines

Delays between Leicester and Loughborough expected until 11am

A trespass incident between Leicester and Loughborough means that the line is disrupted. As a result, trains running through these stations may be delayed by up to 20 minutes.

Disruption is expected until 11am.

The British Transport Police are on site and are managing the incident.

Major disruption between Kentish Town / Stevenage and London until approximately 2pm

Damage to the overhead wires in the Finsbury Park area and a train striking a tree branch at Kentish Town means some lines are blocked. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

Major disruption is expected until 2pm.

  • Great Northern between Welwyn Garden City / Hertford North / Stevenage and Moorgate
  • All Hull Trains to / from London Kings Cross

  • Thameslink between Peterborough and Welwyn Garden City / Horsham, and between Cambridge / Bedford and Brighton, and also between Bedford and East Grinstead / Three Bridges

Minor delays on the Victoria and Piccadilly lines

Disruption between Watford Junction and London Euston expected until 10am

Following a points failure at Wembley Central all lines have reopened. As service recovers, trains may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or revised.

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on London Overground between Watford Junction and London Euston.

No trains between Finsbury Park and Moorgate until approximately 2pm

Great Northern services are unable to run between Finsbury Park and Moorgate in either direction due to overhead wire damage at Drayton Park.

Trains which usually run to Moorgate will be diverted, and will run to London Kings Cross instead.

The Northern line is the only other Tube service running and is providing a good service.

What's next for TfL?

As the union's week of strikes came to an end, Transport for London has extended an invitation to the RMT to resume negotiations.

After indicating that more strikes might occur, the RMT did not state if it would accept TfL's invitation to additional discussions next Wednesday.

London Underground trains will not be operating at full capacity until the end of the morning rush hour

Following the conclusion of the final strike by 10,000 RMT members on Thursday night, TfL stated that London Underground trains will not be operating at full capacity until the end of the morning rush hour.

It was advised that travellers check for updates prior to departure, particularly for commutes before 8am.

Northern line providing a good service
