There will be additional delays on the westbound A13. The M11 southbound has additional traffic during peak periods.

No trains to / from London Fenchurch Street from 20:45 until end of service until Thursday

London Ambulance Service has provided more information about the incident on Westminster Bridge.

A spokesperson said: “We were called today (Wednesday 8) at 10.10am to reports of an incident on Westminster Bridge.

We sent resources including ambulance crews, an emergency planning manager, an incident response officer and members of our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).

We treated a man at the scene before taking him to hospital.”

Aldgate East points failure disruption

The following lines are impacted by the points failure at Aldgate East:

  • The Circle line is part suspended between Moorgate and Edgware Road with severe delays on the rest of the line.
  • The District line is part suspended between Whitechapel and Tower Hill with severe delays between Tower Hill and Richmond/Ealing Broadway, Edgeware Road and Wimbledon, Upminster and Whitehcapel, and Earl’s Court and Kensington (Olympia).
  • The Hammersmith & City line is part suspended between Barking and Liverpool Street
  • The Metropolitan line is part suspended between Baker Street and Aldgate.

A41 traffic

A vehicle breakdown has caused severe delays on the A41 Finchely Road Southbound at the junction of Blackburn Road. Lane two (of three) is closed.

Metropolitan line part suspended

The Metropolitan line is part suspended between Baker Street and Aldgate East due to the points failure at Aldgate East.

A3 traffic

There are serious delays on the A3. According to TfL, traffic is very slow with northbound delays on Queenstown Road back to Silverthorne Road.

Traffic is also heavy on Prince of Wales Drive and Battersea Park Road approaching Queenstown Road.

There are also southbound delays on Chelsea Bridge back to Ebury Bridge Road.

District line disruption

There are severe delays on the District line between Tower Hill and Richmond/Ealing Broadway, and Upminster and Whitechapel.

The line is part suspended between Whitechapel and Tower Hill.

Holland Park Station closed

The District line is part suspended between Whitechapel and Tower Hill, and the Hammersmith & City line is part suspended between Barking and Liverpool Street.

TfL's 'disturbing' social media video

Transport for London has been criticised for posting a "disturbing" social media video that encourages passengers to take their cats on the Tube.

The Cats Protection charity advised against taking cats on the London Underground, warning that this could cause them "significant stress".

Christmas rail shutdown

Rail passengers have been warned of more than a fortnight of disruption over the Christmas period due to the annual engineering shutdown.

There will be no Greater Anglia trains between Liverpool Street and Stratford from Christmas Day until January 2, though the Elizabeth line – which uses platforms underneath Liverpool Street station – will continue as normal.

There is no step-free access at Liverpool Street station between the National Rail concourse and the eastbound Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines due to a faulty lift.

Passengers are advised to use the Elizabeth line entrance on Broadgate for step free access.
