London travel news LIVE: Travel chaos as Elizabeth line and Overground trains part suspended

Commuters are facing travel chaos this morning as the London Overground and Elizabeth line are part suspended.

Overground services between Kilburn High Road and London Euston are suspended until the end of the day due to a signalling system fault.

Services running between Watford Junction and London Euston will be terminated at and started back from Kilburn High Road.

Meanwhile, the Elizabeth line is part suspended between Paddington and Abbey Wood due to a broken down train at Paddington. As a result, there are severe delays on the rest of the line.

Elsewhere, drivers on the M25 clockwise are facing severe delays of up to 30 minutes due to a road traffic collision. Two of the three lanes on the M25 clockwise at junction 1B are closed, while heavy congestion is building up between junctions 31 and 1B. Delays caused by the traffic collision are expected to clear by 11.00am.

Elsewhere, a signalling fault is also causing severe delays between Victoria and Clapham Junction. Trains running between these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 30 minutes until around 10.00am.

There are also delays across the entire Jubilee line due to an earlier points failure at Wembley Park.

Delays caused by earlier vehicle fire at Stansted Aiport

Due to an earlier van fire near Stansted Airport, traffic on the A120 westbound is facing delays of up to 10 minutes and a lane closure.

The incident occurred between Donmar and Stanstead Airport at 4.52am.

Essex County Fire and Recue Service reported no injuries and cleared the incident by 5.45am.

As a result of the earlier fire, traffic is expected until 9.00am on the A120 westbound between the junctions with the A131 South and the M11.

London Overground suspension expected to last all day

A key section of the London Overground running between Kilburn High Road and London Euston will be part suspended until the end of the day.

The suspension is caused by a fault with the signalling system at South Hampstead.

As a result, trains are unable to operate between Kilburn High Road and London Euston.

Tree blocking railway at Epsom Downs

  • Southern and Thameslink services to and from East Grinstead
  • Southern, Gatwick Express and Thameslink services on any reasonable route via Haywards Heath
  • Brighton & Hove Buses on route 29 between Lewes, Uckfield, Crowborough town centre, Eridge and Tunbridge Wells

Elizabeth line delays between Whitechapel and Shenfield

There are minor delays on the Elizabeth line between Whitechapel and Shenfield while Network Rail deal with a track fault at Harold Wood.

Good service is reported on the rest of the line.

The Northern line is part suspended between Edgware and Colindale while the emergency services deal with a casualty on the track.

Tickets will be valid on buses and there is good service on the rest of the line.

Major rail disruption between Dalston Junction and Norwood Junction until 11.00am

Due to overrunning engineering works, major disruption is expected to trains running between Dalston Junction and Norwood Junction until 11.00am.

Train services to and from Highbury & Islington via Canada Water and Dalston Junction will be suspended between West Croydon and Sydenham. West Croydon, Norwood Junction, Anerley and Penge West will not be served.

Tickets will be accepted at no extra cost on local buses and Southern services via any reasonable route.
